Outdoor Cinema 2020 Tour – collaborating with local businesses

In 2020, VIVID Event Production and Night Flicks toured New Zealand, gaining widespread acclaim and showing the power of Outdoor Cinemas even in this modern age.

VIVID Event Production & Night Flicks Outdoor Cinema’s Drive-in Cinema tour was”the biggest drive-in tour that concludes by touring the country and screening classic and well-liked movies from the safety of your own vehicle.”

The tour collaborated with ASB and KidsCan, using the events to raise awareness and fundraise for Kiwi charities. Consider the same for your business; a great Outdoor/Drive-in Cinema is unique and impressive, and is sure to drive a lot of interest.

What Outdoor Cinemas are all about

Outdoor Cinemas allow individuals to sit together and watch movies projected in front of them (think Silo Park in Auckland, but with a dedicated screen).

The Outdoor cinema includes digital or analog movie projectors, scaffolding or inflatable film screen and sound system. Outdoor cinemas are very basic and often need to be fully set up and removed overnight. Sheets, small screens, or existing walls can be used as a screen for a projected image.

What Drive-in Cinemas are all about

Recreating the atmosphere of the glorious days of the 1950s, movies are projected on a 36 square metre screen, and audio can be heard inside vehicles through a dedicated FM radio station. Drive-in theater or drive-in cinema is a cinema structure with a large outdoor movie screen, a project booth, a privileged stand, and a large parking area for vehicles. Within this closed area, customers can watch movies from the comfort and privacy of their cars. Some of the Drive-in cinemas have small playgrounds for children and some tour tables or benches.

The screen can be as simple as a wall painted in white or a steel truss structure with intricate coating. First, the speakers on the screen provided the sound of the film, and then separate speakers should be hung from each car window, which are connected by wire. These systems are bypassed by the very practical method of micro-transmitting audio to car radios.
